Oh, Christmas Tree!

December 8, 2017

Hello Lovelies,

We are a little more than two weeks away from Christmas and while some of you probably already have your trees up and decorated we know some of you are waiting to be done work and on holidays to tackle all of your Christmas decor. Either way we wanted to share with you some of our favourite Christmas Ornaments, maybe they will make their way on to your tree this year or will become gifts for friends or family this season.

I love a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, I also love the idea of decorating the tree as a family. But…a beautiful tree and little ones helping to hang ornaments, don’t really go hand in hand. Growing up we often had our main big tree in the family room, which we would all help to decorate using the ornaments chosen to fit with the decor theme that year (and then Mom would re-decorate later) and a smaller kids tree where anything was allowed! I like this idea and plan to do this with my own family as we start to create our own Holiday traditions.

With Christmas trees anything goes, (I’ve even seen upside down trees this year, apparently the next big thing, I’m not so sure I am on board with this trend…) some people like to use the same ornaments year after year while others like to change the theme of the tree each year. Some people choose a colour and choose only ornaments that fit within their colour scheme while other people use a ‘type’ for their ornaments like a tree full of woodland creatures. I have seen beautiful trees decorated with only glass balls and equally beautiful trees decorated with an assortment of different ornaments. No matter what you choose to decorate your tree with once the lights are dimmed and the Christmas lights are plugged in they are all always so beautiful.

However you trim your tree this year maybe you can find some inspiration or something to add from a few of our favourites…

The Cross Decor and Design is a beautiful store located in Vancouver B.C. They truly have some of the most beautiful things to fill your home with from gorgeous throw pillows to dainty and delicate jewelry. Once you set foot in the store it’s hard to leave. Their Christmas ornaments do not disappoint this year… a few of our favorites are pictured below but check out their online shop for yourself, there is bound to be something to fit every tree.

These simple hand painted balls are perfect for a minimalistic or monochrome look and they are Canadian made, by the small shop SachaAndCo which you can find on Etsy.

The woman behind PandHChalk creates the most beautiful lettering pieces for your home. These hand painted, lettered and embossed ornaments would look beautiful on any tree and the option to customize them is perfect.

Hudson’s Bay has so many cute ornaments this year and they are all on SALE, even better! For those who are into an animal or woodland theme or who like the idea of a kids tree this wooden raccoon ornament by Christmas Street is pretty darn cute.

I know there are a lot of monochrome lovers out there and a monochrome kids tree would be super cute. This Christmas Street reindeer is perfect.

I have a thing for these globe ornaments. I got a few last year and I love how they look on the tree. Definitely need to add this Glucksteinhome glass dome to my collection this year.

Last on our list are these beautiful iced ornaments from Anthropologie. They come in a set of four and are so beautiful. Anthropologie also has so many amazing ornaments this year from delicate glass and feathered animals, to travel inspired pieces, be sure to check out their selection.

Maybe one of these ornaments will make its way into your collection this year or maybe you will find another one you like while you check out all the sites listed. If your tree is already up and sparkling in your living room then how cute would one of these ornaments look tied around the the neck of a bottle of wine or wrapped around the stems of some beautiful Holiday greenery? The perfect way to elevate your hostess gifts this season.

Happy decorating!
