Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I wanted to do something fun with the boys. Jack isn’t really into crafts, he lasts about five minutes and then he’s off to go jump, dump or dig, so no crafting for us. He likes to help in the kitchen especially if we are making a treat but again it couldn’t be something that would take too long…
I decided that Rice Krispies treats would be my go to again, sorry! They are yummy, easy, quick and simple enough to make with a toddler, PERFECT!
We started off by making classic Rice Krispie treats. Jack was super excited because he got to DUMP the Rice Krispies into the pot, what could be better?!??
Once they were ready I did the dumping and poured them onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. Then we let them cool, make sure you give them enough time to properly cool down otherwise they will just stick to your cookie cutter. We put ours outside for just a few minutes because it’s – 1000 degrees in Calgary, at least the cold weather helped me keep Jack focused!
Once cooled, Jack helped me press our heart shaped cookie cutter into the Rice Krispies.
Then we dipped half of each heart in melted white chocolate and decorated them with heart shaped sprinkles, well I decorated them while Jack shoved as many sprinkles as possible into his mouth.
That’s it! Easy, cute, quick and pretty darn delicious. Happy Valentines Day ❤
