We love seeing people turn their passion projects into reality. This past weekend we attended the 9th annual Market Collective in YYC at the Inglewood Yellow Warehouse. It’s an incredible collection of designers, artisans and health focused entrepreneurs. While there were over a 100 vendors to explore, here are a few of our highlights…
One of the first items I came across was a gorgeous multi purpose car seat cover. Baby Leaf Covers has created a functional cover that can be used six ways and looks great to boot. It can act as a car seat cover, a nursing cover, an insert for your baby carrier to keep baby extra cozy, a swing or shopping cart cover, a poncho or a scarf. A must for our next babies for sure! We highly recommend you check them out!!
Both Lauren and I LOVE the baby clothing lines available in Canada, but its amazing the quality and design you can get right here in Calgary. Reese got her first Camp Brand sweatshirt along with our forever favorite pom pom toques. You wouldn’t believe how many comments we get on these toques, when the kids wear them we LITERALLY get stopped all the time! We love The Stitched Arrow one as the pom pom is detachable for easy washing. The Stitched Arrow also had a great selection of harem pants and leggings and we couldn’t pass up the black and white forest harems for baby Linden.
We each scored a shirt and a pair of pants from Wylo+Co and are so excited that more of these designers are putting out nice solid color shirts. My Mila is a staple in all of our kids closets. Jack has been wearing My Mila since he was born and now Linden is recycling some of his items. Of course matching kiddos are adorable and until they protest, the boys are going to match. The newest items to hit her shop are perfect for matching (even thinking about getting one for momma so we can ALL match!!!)
I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with greeting cards. I adore browsing through and picking the perfect card for whatever the occassion may be. Yesterday, I came across ImPaper where I found an awesome selection of gift cards and prints, and not to mention a really well done display. We both ended up purchasing cards and prints from these wonderful individuals.
There were so many incredible jewelery designers that it feels a shame to only mention a few, but I ended up making purchases from three separate designers that I know I will get a lot of wear out of. Thank you to She’s So, AH Design + DIY and DreamBoat Lucy for the gorgeous additions to my collection (not to mention brand appropriate).
The market always features unique and delicious food options. Some of our favourites are Rosso Coffee Roasters, Nourish Kitchen and Bakery and The Dumpling Heros. We didn’t have much time for eating this time (huge bummer but when it’s naptime you run home!!) but a small jar of Drizzle Summer Honey made it into our bags as we headed out the door, the perfect little sweet treat.
Market Collective is always a great market to attend, we are already looking forward to checking out their next one! It’s always the perfect place to buy unique gifts while supporting local makers and by supporting them we are helping to support their dream, something we truly love.
