Hello Lovelies. I LOVE, love the recipes that come with fall. Hearty soups and stews, fresh apple pies and crisps and of course everything pumpkin. I LOVE pumpkin anything, pumpkin soup, gnocchi, muffins if the recipe has pumpkin in it I will try it. My all time favourite pumpkin-y treat is pumpkin pie, my mom…

Day 1: unplug. A simple message with a huge impact. With that in mind we are signing off for a week of dedicated time with family and friends. We hope you do the same. These mamas are eternally grateful to have a community and platform to share our triumphs and our challenges. Love and light to everyone as we close out another spectacular year. Day 2: Go outside! Enjoy the fresh, crisp winter air. Snowshoe, ski, toboggan or stroll with a hot Baileys in hand. Enjoy this beautiful time of year. Appreciate the falling snowflakes, the crunch beneath your feet and the warm glow of the Christmas lights. Take in the magic of the season with those who are near and dear Ox ❤️ - by abalancedwild 12 months ago
Day 3: make no assumptions! This has proved to be a challenging one for me. Endless hours spent sifting through the worries of what hasn’t happened yet. Playing out scenarios. Anticipating catastrophe. Rarely do any of these disasters play themselves out in reality, yet the damage of assumptions made about other people (usually those we love most) wreak havoc on our thoughts and our hearts. Today I think I’ll take my control back and lead with love instead. - by abalancedwild 12 months ago
Day 4: be kind! The final hustle and bustle is upon us. We are getting meals prepped and presents wrapped, or some may even still be out there battling the malls trying to find the perfect gift. It is so easy to be kind when I’m in comfortable and peaceful situations, but I have been trying SO hard to be kind in the most stressful situations - like waiting for the perfect parking spot for ages with a toddler in tow only to have it snagged by another shopper. Take a deep breath. Don’t take it personally. Exude that Christmas - by abalancedwild 12 months ago
Day 5: Reflect. Life is crazy, it’s busy, it’s amazing and it’s also hard and unfair and terrifying. Christmas always comes in a hurry and our to-do lists are never-ending and if you’re anything like me you are go, go, go and then suddenly your back to work and the whole season not to mention the entire year seems to have gone by in 2.5 seconds... This year I’ve had a lot to be grateful for but I have also had a lot of heart ache. It’s important (but easier to say than actually do) to reflect on everything you - by abalancedwild 12 months ago
Day 6: make space for “yes”! Routines. Schedules. To do lists. Sometimes I find myself trying to be so perfectly organized and on top of things that I forget to say “yes” to fun. This holiday season and for the upcoming year I am going to make space for all the inconvenient messes in the name of making memories. Christmas cookies for breakfast it is! (Insert anxiety here. I think this one will be a work in progress) xo - by abalancedwild 12 months ago
Day 7: Just do it! I am a cyclical go-getter. That is - in some seasons I think I’m killin’ it and in other seasons I barely have the motivation to unload the dishwasher. For the past several months I have been obsessed with @melrobbinslive and her work around the 5 second rule. The basic gist is that your brain has about 5 seconds from the conception of an idea to the execution of that idea before your brain physiologically tries to squash your desire to take action. Simply put: when you get the inclination to work out or sort - by abalancedwild 12 months ago
Day 7: fill up your friendship cup! Quite some time ago Lauren and I booked a wreath making class and dinner together to reconnect and have some fun. It can be challenging to carve out time with all of life’s demands, but this season is all about spending time together and making memories with people we love. We may not have followed the rules, we tried to sneak in wine and we didn’t meet another person, but we had the best time living in our own world and catching up on the hardest and best times this past fall.
